Good to know

Frequently asked questions

My door sticks, rubs, or won't latch — repair or replace?

Often it's a repair: hinge adjustment, strike-plate realignment, or planing an edge. If the frame is rotted, warped, or out of square, replacement is usually the better long-term value. Send photos through the quote builder and we'll tell you honestly which one it is.

How do I measure my door?

Measure the door slab itself: width across the middle, height along the hinge side, and thickness. Then measure the rough opening (frame to frame) if you can. Round to the nearest 1/4". Don't worry about perfection — we always confirm with a free on-site measure before ordering.

What warranty do I get?

Every installation carries our workmanship warranty, and doors and hardware keep their full manufacturer warranties. If a door we hung starts sticking or won't latch, call us and we'll make it right.

How long does installation take?

A standard replacement door is typically done in a half day. Entry systems with sidelights, French pairs, or new openings can take a full day or more. Special-order doors usually arrive in 2–4 weeks.

Do you haul away my old door?

Yes — old doors, hardware, and debris can be removed and disposed of for a small haul-away fee, selectable per door in the quote builder. We can also leave the old door on site if you'd rather keep it.

Do you install doors I bought somewhere else?

We do. Choose "repair" or "replacement" in the quote builder and note in the comments that you're supplying the door — we'll quote labor, hardware, and frame work only.
